1) Conserve particularly interesting sites
2) Monitor changes in numbers and distribution of species
3) Contribute to national Recording Schemes (your flower/bird’s nest/ earwig may provide a new dot on a national map)

Recorder’s name; species; grid reference (ideally two letters and six figures, e.g. SD486605), with the place name, (e.g. Lancaster), date.
If you are not already a member of the Wildlife Trust, then come along to a few meetings and if you like them, join the Trust.
