Lacewing

We get plenty of green lacewings in the moth trap but this one is new to us - not likely to have missed it before. Reading Chinery p.106 would suggest it might be Nothochrysa capitata. Body length about 15mm, overall length including wings c. 25mm+

I agree, looks like Nothochrysa capitata. My first edition Chinery just gives N fulviceps, but my key to lacewings says there is only one record for this species in Britain since 1958, so I think capitata is much more likely. It is in Green Lacewing family (Chrysopidae) but a large brown lacewing with orange head.
