North Lancashire Naturalists Group
We are a local branch of the Wildlife Trust for Lancashire. Our current projects include the management of nature reserves at Warton Crag, Aughton Woods, Heysham and Over Kellet pond. These are all open to the public, and walks and talks for local groups are provided.
We carry out surveys of sites and wildlife throughout the area. Local atlases of several groups have already been produced and more are in preparation.
The group has close contacts with LDBWS, Arnside/Silverdale AONB group and the National Trust
GETTING INVOLVED
A programme of events is publicised in libraries and information centres and our newsletter is published annually, covering activities through the year.
Meetings are on the second Friday in the month from September to March at The Church of the Ascension in Torrisholme. They are open to all, but visitors are encouraged to join the Wildlife Trust for Lancashire.
There are three outings a month in the summer to a range of sites throughout the area. We also organise working parties on Wildlife Trust nature reserves throughout the year. Indoor talks and slide shows take place throughout the winter months.
